Jonas
I have been training in combat sports for many years. I built this calculator to help fighters and martial artists track their calorie burn during training.
Martial Arts Calorie Calculator
Martial arts burns between 350-800 calories per hour, depending on the discipline and training intensity. High-kick styles and grappling arts tend to burn the most calories.
How the Calculator Works
The calculator uses MET values based on martial art style:
Calories Burned = MET × Weight (kg) × Time (hours)
MET Values by Style
| Martial Art Style | MET Value |
|---|---|
| MMA / Kickboxing / Taekwondo / Judo | 10.0 |
| Karate / Kung Fu | 8.0 |
| Moderate Training | 5.0 |
Example Calculation
For a 70 kg person doing taekwondo for 60 minutes:
1. MET Value: 10.0 (taekwondo)
2. Calculation: 10.0 × 70 × 1.0 = 700 calories
Note: Competition-level training can burn 800-1000+ calories per hour due to maximum intensity throughout the session.
