How to Read These Charts

  1. Find your height row
  2. Find your skill level column
  3. The range shown is your acceptable window (±5 cm from optimal)
  4. Choose the lower end if you are lighter than average or prefer shorter turns
  5. Choose the higher end if you are heavier than average or ski aggressively

Why Charts Have Ranges, Not Single Numbers

Ski length is not a single correct answer. A 5 cm difference is usually not noticeable on snow. The exact optimal length depends on:

  • Body weight — heavier skiers need slightly longer skis
  • Skiing style — aggressive skiers prefer the upper end; conservative skiers prefer the lower end
  • Ski model geometry — a wider, rockered ski at a given length skis shorter than a narrow, cambered ski
  • Personal preference — experienced skiers often have strong length preferences from prior experience
