I have been enjoying outdoor adventure sports for many years. I built this calculator to help outdoor enthusiasts track their calorie burn.
Skateboarding Calorie Calculator
Skateboarding burns between 250-600 calories per hour, depending on intensity. Competition and trick-based skating burn the most calories.
How the Calculator Works
Calories Burned = MET × Weight (kg) × Time (hours)
MET Values by Skating Style
| Skating Style | MET Value |
|---|---|
| Competition/Contest | 8.0 |
| Aggressive/Tricks | 7.0 |
| General Skating | 5.0 |
| Cruising | 4.0 |
Example Calculation
For a 65 kg person doing tricks/aggressive skating for 90 minutes:
1. MET Value: 7.0 (aggressive)
2. Calculation: 7.0 × 65 × 1.5 = 683 calories
Note: Vert ramp and bowl skating can burn 600-800+ calories per hour due to constant pumping and aerial tricks.
